What is Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is the ablation of the diseased vein with the introduction of sclerosing agents into the varicose vein. It is a method that has always maintained its popularity, although the application methods and drugs have changed constantly over time.

The application of sclerotherapy in telangiectasia or small varicose veins is called microsclerotherapy.

The application of sclerotherapy in large veins is called macrosclerotherapy. All sclerosing agents used today have similar histological effects. After injection, endothelial cells swell and deteriorate immediately.
